The Wayne Farms, Inc. operation is a large poultry processing plant located in southeast Alabama . This facility produces fresh product which is quick frozen and transfered direcly to a holding freezer. Having outgrown its existing freezer space in the Alabama region, Wayne Farms committed to build a new Freezer addition extending south from the existing production plant. The 45,000 SF storage freezer was fitted with an Intec -40° VRT blast conveyor/shelf freezer.
The building includes -10° Freezer, -40° Intec blast freezer, and a 35° loading dock. The loading dock was extended to 52' including continuous pit and vertically stored dock levelers with an efficient push-back rack system in the freezer. The 4 acre site is designed for 30+ trailers.
During the bid process, several national builders were compared to provide the most comprehensive design/build package. The proposal included planning, project schedule, POS, project management team strategy and the best project execution plan. Primus Builders was awarded the project with turnkey responsibility.
