CLANTON, AL 50,000 SF Foodservice Expansion including 26,000 SF Dry & 24,000 SF of -10° Freezer
The Merchants Company is a top 50 foodservice distributor based in Hattiesburg, MS. Merchants has distribution centers in Hattiesburg, MS, Jackson, MS, and Clanton, AL, and is a member of the Frosty Acres marketing group.
Due to its double digit growth over the last few years, Merchant's decided to expand the Clanton location. Merchant's selected Primus Builders to provide turn-key design/build services on its 51,000 SF freezer and dry expansion.
The expansion entailed expanding both the freezer and dry areas approximately 25,000 SF and adding additional space to the ammonia engine room.
The project included 10 new vertical storing dock doors on a new 60 foot dock, shrinkage compensating concrete floors, and an ESFR fire protection system in the dry area.
