MULTIPLE SITES Various Expansion and Renovation projects throughout the USA
The Kmart Corporation selected Primus Builders to renovate their existing facility. The scope of this project was to demolish approximately 160,000 SF of existing enclosed truck concourse and convert it into an open yard shipping and receiving operation to handle the 52” trailers.
Primus installed 120 new, state-of-the-art dock positions with break out doors, automatic dock boards, communications systems, trailer ventilation, lighting package and vehicle restraints.
This project increased shipping productivity and limited the need for Kmart to move the over-the-road cargo with yard trucks.
In order to keep Kmart in full operation, the work was staged into seven phases to allow for the facility to maintain the inventory in the stores.
